Bio: Terry Rapoch

Terry Rapoch is the President of daytaOhio (The Ohio Wright Center for Data). daytaOhio, the Ohio Wright Center for Data, is one of eight Wright Centers of Innovation around the state of Ohio funded by former Ohio Governor Taft’s Third Frontier Program. The center is a market-driven, 501c3 non-profit, research and development enterprise that brings together innovators, entrepreneurs and investors to leverage state-of-the-art tools and processes that accelerate commercial success. daytaOhio is focused on advancing the ability to effectively acquire, manage, analyze and deliver large volumes of data. Its members consist of over 30 industry, academic, government, and non-profit partners who have pledged more than $32 million in support for the center.

Prior to joining daytaOhio in January 2005, Rapoch was a vice president with NCR Corp. As a loaned executive from NCR, he was instrumental in developing the proposal that was funded by the Ohio Department of Development in October 2003 to establish daytaOhio and then supported its start-up.

Rapoch joined NCR in November 1997 as CIO for the Americas after holding senior management and executive IT positions with three major Canadian communications companies and serving as the CIO of NCR Canada. Rapoch is active in the Dayton community. He is past chair of the Greater Dayton IT Alliance, a member of the Board of the Ohio IT Alliance, a member on advisory boards at Wright State University and Sinclair College, and serves on a number of regional economic development task forces and teams. He earned his bachelor of science degree with honors in chemistry and mathematics from Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec, and did graduate work in forestry at the University of British Columbia after working for three years in Tanzania with the Canadian University Service Overseas.
