Incubating Business

OhioITA and its network of partners get entrepreneurs the resources they need.

Supporting IT incubation efforts both statewide and locally, we focus on

  • Business Plan review and drafting
  • High-tech office space and infrastructure
  • Business Mentorship
  • Startup services - access to low cost accounting and legal services
  • Technology transfer, including full product and service commercialization.

One of the primary functions in the incubation process is to get entrepreneurs the resources necessary to start new businesses or grow existing businesses. We've had significant success in this area. For example, TechColumbus was awarded the Randall M. Whaley Incubator of the Year by the National Business Incubation. The Whaley award, NBIA’s highest honor, recognizes overall incubator excellence and honors the memory of Whaley, former president of University City Science Center in Philadelphia and founding chairman of the National Business Incubation Association. Friends of University City Science Center endow the award. The NBIA is the world’s leading organization advancing business incubation and entrepreneurship. Each year, the NBIA Incubation Awards honor the business incubators, client companies and graduates that exemplify the best of the industry.

Engaged to bring about IT business creation on a statewide level, we've deployed grant dollars throughout our regional networks. To tap into the local incubators with a direct introduction, contact us at administrator@ohioita.org and we will respond within 24 hours.
